When: Lunchtime Saturday

Getting there

Car
On clear roads, Bournemouth is 1 hr 45 mins from West London. Northerly types should allow about 3 hours with traffic. Follow signs for M4, then M27, then Bournemouth, then use the map.
Train
Fast trains leave Waterloo at 35 minutes past the hour and take about 1:40 mins to Bournemouth - leaving a 15 minute cab ride. More details here here.

Anyone coming down on the Friday will get roped in to getting the boat ready (filling it with fane wanes) and a warm-up drink in Parkstone. A good budget B&B for Friday night is here, other accommodation here.

Saturday Afternoon Sail

After lunch, we'll go to the marina at Parkstone Yacht Club (which is here) and sail out of the harbour to Studland bay in Studland. (About an hour if we go straight there but if the weather is good we can take the scenic route and sail for a few hours along the Dorset coast).

Saturday Evening

Stumble ashore and head up to the Bankes Arms.

Places to stay

We'll stay in Swanage - 2 miles from Studland - as there's loads of B&B's there. Sarah found this one and a place called Little Gem (while she was in Montreal! - legend). This hotel is £30 pp and is nearby. There's also a campsite here.

There's room for a few robust types to stay on the boat (4-6 berths).

Sunday

Sail back, planning to arrive back in Bournemouth late afternoon. Folks having to leave early can get a taxi from Studland to Bournemouth (~hour).
